Teropong Dunya Aki Andan: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

In Dayak Iban system of belief there is no Aki Andan but only the legendary Ini Andan. Aki Andan is deliberately used here merely to denote a male counterpart and not in any way to be construed as her spouse as there being none. Ini Andan occupies a very special social and spiritual station. She is also in possession of many special skills, which among others, the ability to foretell with accuracy what is to come in the near future and also often the saviour of the wounded and downtrodden. Not specifically endowed with such skills or abilities, hence her modern male counterpart has to use the 'teropong' to look into the distant future.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Dear readers,

I am taking a few days off. My village is the destination.

To all Christian relatives and friends, Christian readers of this blog and all Christians in Malaysia and over the world, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2009. May the good tidings of our Lord's nativity bring you salvation and joy. The lord is my shepherd and there's nothing I shall want.

To the non-Christians I also wish you all that God Almighty will shower you with happiness, peace, prosperity and joy.

I pray that our current and future government will always respect the right to freedom of religion and every other fundamental right. Only with such guarantee that this beloved land will bear witness to prosperity and harmony. May people of all faiths come and congregate in brotherhood giving the best in us for the selfless service and betterment of others.

To all readers who have visited and/or left comments in this blog I like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is because of people like you that I continue to write.

Let peace and freedom triumph in every corner of our beloved land. Amen

Keep writing, exposed what need to be expose, write and inform what need to be known. Keep writing my friend. Fear shall we not. For much has been hidden from the dayaks. There existed the axis of evil to let us behaved like. But we are NO evil. We speak and write our mind out. To at least let the evils know their evils intentions.
