Dear readers

All are welcome to leave comments.

In Dayak Iban system of belief there is no Aki Andan but only the legendary Ini Andan. Aki Andan is deliberately used here merely to denote a male counterpart and not in any way to be construed as her spouse as there being none. Ini Andan occupies a very special social and spiritual station. She is also in possession of many special skills, which among others, the ability to foretell with accuracy what is to come in the near future and also often the saviour of the wounded and downtrodden. Not specifically endowed with such skills or abilities, hence her modern male counterpart has to use the 'teropong' to look into the distant future.

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Today I want to be different. Instead of writing heavy stuff I just want to digest a few things that I think would give some inspiration to myself and perhaps others too.

The 10 simple words "if it is to be, it is up to me", I picked somewhere in a certain magazine give a profound impression. Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson who once said "When you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen."

On this beautiful Chinese New Year day, while I want to relax because most shops are closed, I just want to ponder upon those 10 words.

To all of you who pass by this blog I like to wish you great days ahead. It is you who make things happen and if it is to be it is up to you.

Malaysia, after 50 years of its formation, is really in need of refurbishment.

May God bless everyone.

Dear Bro. Henry,

Just sharing personal thought when reading between the line by the ten-words phrase.

"HOW I MAKE MYSELF TO BE WHAT I WANT TO BE" is the acid test of "WHAT I DO IN ORDER TO BE WHAT I WANT TO BE."

The Chinese New Year of OX foreshadows hardwork ahead ...
And I wish you the wish you wish me to wish you

Cheers,
al-Benny

Both are good orators but sly.
It is noticeable that one of them tends to look left & right / up & down and avoid eye-contact when talking face to face.
Sampai mulut bepupu or bebuih pemendar bejaku ....

Good Morning guy!!

It's veru good of you to remind everyone from the words/phrases described above. Hope it will bring positive impact to Iban people especially when to face challenges ahead in the year of OX 2009.

Thanks.

I and few of my friends decided not to attend the seminar on Dayak issue to be held in Sibu on 31/1 after learning that the seminar will be officiated by Dato Sri D. Tajem. As one of the contibutor of the current Dayak dilemma he has no business to be there. Remember the Judas role he played during the last parliamentary election? He helped BN candidate in Sri Aman just because Masing presented him with RM5.00 birthday cake and the promises that his son will replace Mong Dagang as PRS candidate in the coming state election.Sorry we have enough of him. PKR leaders/Seminar organiser watch out....Tajem might be there as informer to Taib !

As a blogger, I go everywhere to find something to write on including the Dayak Symposium.

Yes, my longhouse was badly affected by flood. Like what Thomas Alva Edison had said when his USD2mil laboratory was burnt down, 'it good that the mistake was burnt with the fire'. My longhouse is situated on the left bank of the Mukah River. With heavy siltation and less vegetation to absorb excess water, flood is the natural visitor. We have failed to protect our forest with our heart, lives and brain from unsrcupulous hands. So flood comes again and again. Let our failure, compalcence and silence be gone with the receding water down to the open sea.

But never mind about my flooded longhouse. It is the price we have to pay for being the silent majority. What is more important is the future of all Malaysians and especially the disadvantaged Dayak in urban and rural Sarawak.

Spelling error: The word should be 'complacence' and not 'compalcence'
